Did you know our district provides support for three online learning platforms for teachers and students to utilize 24/7? Try one of these tools to efficiently manage student submitted homework, post copies of powerpoints, handouts, and other homework, and extend classroom activities beyond the school day.
1. Moodle, used by sd25
teachers since 2008, is an
open-source Learning Management System (LMS) providing an option for teachers to post –and receive-- assignments,
assess online, hold discussions, and much more. Idaho State University uses
this robust LMS, and so student exposure to Moodle at school can definitely give them
a head start at higher ed.
2. MyBigCampus is provided free with
our Lightspeed filtering program. MBS touts a safe environment for
students. The functionality focus on these aspects: discussion board
and chat; posting of resources; and assignments and tests –
including online assignment submissions.
3. Edmodo is a more recent addition to
the district's options. At Pocatello.Edmodo, teachers and students can expect a very similar environment to MyBigCampus. The same desirable features in both Moodle and MBC are
available in Edmodo: student communication, sharing of resources,
and student uploading of files.
